D.N.P is proud to be part of the new compilation from Petroglyph Music (track 6). ‘The Dangerous Kitchen’ tasked artists with the challenge of making a track using only sounds obtained in a kitchen. D.N.P used only the sound of a running/dripping tap into a metal sink to create ‘Water’.

Thanks to Øystein and Rune at Petroglyph Music for the inclusion.

Many months ago at the Ambient Online forum I came across a post from Another Neglected Hobby inviting artists to add to, adapt, or manipulate their Drone or Drone remixed releases. I taken this offer up and over several months created this release. Many thanks to ANH for creating the original sounds. Many thanks also to my brothers in law Jim and Pete for sound samples of their workplace factory and farm ambience, and also for the brief lend of my niece’s ‘Rock’ Barbie. All sounds are used here.

Big thanks also to Øystein and Rune at Petroglyph for their continued support of D.N.P.

Owlbinos of Northfield’s ‘My Spirit Animal is a Goth Teenager’ remix album in which D.N.P contributed 2 remixes is reviewed. Good too! https://andrulianblog.wordpress.com/2016/10/13/review-of-my-spirit-animal-is-a-goth-teenager-remixes-album-on-romeda-records/

Those throughly decent folk at ‘The Sunday Experience’ have reviewed the Phonic Entrails compilation in which D.N.P was recently involved. Some very kind words.

The collection opens ominously with DNP. I think its safe to say its been a while since we had the pleasure, or should that be displeasure, of having groove from DNP morbidly sucking to its dark lair where once there was light, a brooding encounter, ‘pigeon park’ glowers with calculated menace issuing forth pulse waves of dread born drone.

Listen to Phonic Entrails

It’s an honour to be included in this compilation of dark ambient, drone, experimental and noise tracks from the ‘Sonic Entrails‘ label. Big thanks to Jon at Sonic Entrails for the inclusion.

D.N.P features ‘Low clouds across Birmingham’ in a new compilation in the ‘Unexplained Sounds’ series. ‘The first annual report’ covers many of the artists featured in the ‘underground surveys’ released in 2015 as well as contributions from experimental legends Steve Reich and Morton Subotnick. Many thanks to Sonologyst, the founder of Unexplained Sounds for his support of D.N.P.

D.N.P…Dona Nobis Pacem…Grant us peace

Well Petroglyph Music do it again with a totally gigantic Christmas compilation. A new D.N.P can be found at the halfway point. Track 82 of the 164 featured….164 tracks of ambient, experimental, electronic, drone and dark ambient….that’s enough for you to avoid Slade, Wizzard et al until the New Year at least. Free download as usual from the Internet Archive. Merry Christmas to you all and best wishes to Rune & Øystein at Petroglyph Music for this compilation and the inclusion of D.N.P.

D.N.P…Dona Nobis Pacem…Grant us peace

Utterances of the weak signals emitted from Little Diomede Island….
isolated, cold and distinguished….

Hyaena Fierling – sound sources, editing, collage, voice, artwork.
D.N.P. – Rumbling, disturbances.

D.N.P. is proud to present their most recent collaboration ‘Radio Diomede’ created with the talented Portuguese sound artist Hyaena Fierling.

Hyaena Fierling´s work is based on improvisation and exploration,
involving the capture of sounds and soundscapes (field work)
as well as programming and editing (based on the canons of film sound)
of sound sequences originated from unorthodox sound sources – wood
and metal objects, stones, different instruments
or the exploration of sound possibilities in spaces with uncanny
acoustic characteristics – the same sound sequences at a later time edited
and sequence according to soundtrack assemblage
composition, breaking the borders of experimental sound and music in cinematic space.

Over the summer D.N.P has been working with Ade Bordicott aka Mutate to provide you with something dark and wonderful. The result is this… D.N.P vs Mutate ‘There was no future after all…’ Plans for a second collaboration with Mutate are already in the pipeline. Sit back, relax and immerse yourself. Thanks to Ade for providing some awesome drones and to Rune Martinsen and Øystein Jorgensen at Petroglyph Music.

“First release from Birmingham collaborators D.N.P. & Mutate, There Was No Future After All is
a truly bleak affair that runs the gamut, from caustic atmospheres to compelling soundscapes.”

Stuart asked me to remix his quite unusual Morris dance version of Burzum….and i couldn’t resist the challenge. My remix is 100% concertina sound just mangled. No additional samples, keys, or soundfonts have been used. Stuart’s cover can be found at https://soundcloud.com/lachenaliamusic/belus-doed-burzum-cover
